We recently had the privilege of touring a factory in Thomaville, North Carolina that produces bedroom furniture for the hospitality industry. We learned first-hand the processes that go into creating a piece of contract furniture and got to see the factory at full steam!! We walked through all the processes, from cutting the raw lumber, shaping, trimming it out, sanding, finishing and seeing the finished piece. What a great experience–and seeing how furniture is put together is always a great lesson for us. The more we know about what goes into a piece of furniture, the better we are able to make decisions about which furniture is perfect for each job!!
Check out our pictures of unfinished pieces being assembled–before the drawers or backs are put on.
